Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) leaders inspire at Outlook 2016. For the ninth year in a row, PCI partnered with the RVIA to kick off the National RV Trade Show. “Outlook 2016: More to See” took place at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. In his first Outlook event presentation since joining the organization, RVIA President Frank Hugelmeyer shared his enthusiasm for the industry’s future. From demographic shifts and new consumer expectations, to rapid technological transformation, Hugelmeyer detailed trends that will affect the RV industry for years to come. He concluded his remarks with a personal anecdote on how outdoor recreation helped him connect with his son. “This is what we sell,” Hugelmeyer said, “the best weekends of peoples’ lives.”
This breakfast event was hosted by RVIA Chairman Derald Bontrager, Jayco Inc. President and CEO, and featured Go RVing Co-Chairs Bob Wheeler and Tom Stinnett, RVIA Public Relations Committee Chairman Chad Reece, and RVIA Vice President of Communications and Marketing James Ashurst. These industry leaders delivered a multimedia presentation on the RV industry’s 2015 marketing and PR achievements and plans for further growth in 2016. The presenters emphasized to more than 1,200 attendees that while the state of the RV industry is strong, the industry must embrace the next generation of consumers and use new marketing channels to reach them.
This year’s theme, “More to See,” was highlighted in the event’s opening video, featuring beautiful sights from around the United States juxtaposed with the amazing innovations from the event’s trade show floor.
