PCI Produces ASAE’s Can’t-Miss Event of the Year
Known as the conference of all conferences, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE)’s Annual Meeting & Exposition is a highly anticipated, can’t-miss annual event for association professionals. Each year, PCI’s goal is to use music, entertainment, video and dramatic staging to celebrate the association leaders who are impacting our world.
PCI approached this year’s ASAE Annual Meeting general sessions by drawing inspiration from both the event’s brand and its Motown setting. An opening video showcased more than two dozen association members touting their 529 “Reasons for Going.” Friends and colleagues saluted the indelible impact of the industry’s top award recipients, and an interactive video (filling a 60-foot-wide screen) recognized ASAE’s strategic partners. The host city enjoyed a fitting tribute as a new Ford Mustang appeared, seemingly from nowhere, carrying Detroit’s own Larry Alexander to welcome audiences to “The D” and share the city’s impressive revival. A gifted local singer serenaded the Diversity Executive Leadership Program Scholars, Fellows, new Certified Association Executive Program class, and ASAE Board of Directors with an original Motown-style song. The sessions culminated in the keynote addresses provided by Josh Linkner, business leader, venture capitalist and author of two New York Times bestsellers; and Sherry Turkle, professor, author, and licensed clinical psychologist.
