PCI and MCAA Members Discover Maui Anew

Every four years the MCAA Annual Convention returns to Maui. The challenge in 2015 was to deliver a new and memorable experience. In March, as it has for seven years, PCI partnered with MCAA to plan and produce the highly anticipated annual event.

Each year, PCI and MCAA shape the general session production by taking a fresh approach to video, live performances, and music. This year’s event kicked off with the latest in a series of president’s intro videos, which have become one of the convention highlights. MCAA President Chuck Fell starred in a 10-minute parody of the motion picture “Cast Away,” surviving on a desert island beach until realizing that he was in fact next to the convention golf course.

The opening session continued with a multimedia celebration of the natural elements that create the singular modern Eden that is Maui, culminating in a pixel-mapped animation that brought an iconic mural to life in the ballroom.

MCAA speakers included former Secretary of Defense and CIA Director Leon Panetta, CBS Sportscaster James “JB” Brown, underwater archaeologist Robert Ballard, and New York Times best-selling author John Green. MCAA also presented outstanding evening entertainment, including a concert by multi-talented superstar Jennifer Hudson.
