The Washington Nationals support area youth through the Dream Foundation’s primary fundraising event.
“Decade of Dreams,” the event’s theme, reflected how the team has captured the hearts of loyal fans while also inspiring the Greater DC Area through their foundation’s support for children’s health, education, and recreation. The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation provides funding to programs including the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, the Washington Nationals Diabetes Care Complex at Children’s National Medical Center, and the Neighborhood Initiative.
Taking pride in the Nationals’ promising season, and in the Dream Foundation’s commitment to DC youth, gala attendees were ready to celebrate – and donate generously! Drawing on seven years of partnering with the Foundation, PCI produced an event worthy of the occasion, illustrating that the Nationals’ first ten years have truly been a “Decade of Dreams” fulfilled.
The 2015 event took place at the Marriott Marquis Washington, DC, featuring a cocktail reception and a dinner program emceed by MSNBC television host Alex Wagner. This year’s event drew the largest crowd ever. More than $600,000 was raised through the ticket sales and the gala’s silent and live auctions, hosted by Nationals broadcasters Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler.
Nationals’ outfielder Jayson Werth’s sister Hilary Werth got in on the celebration, donating original art that brought $26,000 at auction!
