PCI Named Alexandria Philanthropist of the Year; Volunteer Alexandria Award Recognizes Pro Bono Marketing Communication Services

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA, May 7, 2013 — PCI has received the Volunteer Alexandria Philanthropist of the Year award in the Small Business category. The Volunteer Alexandria award recognizes business philanthropists who have broad and significant impact in the community.

“PCI deeply appreciates this recognition,” said Robert Sprague, PCI’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “As a team, we find great satisfaction in giving back to the community. Our pro bono clients have inspired some of our finest creative work.”

PCI has provided substantial support to several local programs, including Carpenter’s Shelter, the Campagna Center, the Marine Corps Marathon, SCORE, WAMU, Spring for Alexandria, and the Patriot Cruise and Salute. PCI has assisted Carpenter’s Shelter, the largest service provider for homeless families in Northern Virginia, for over five years. PCI designed and wrote the organization’s Annual Report, annual Appeal, and fundraising microsite, and provided media relations services for fundraising activities including its signature annual Cook-Off. PCI employees also donated food, toys, and gift cards during the holiday season.

PCI completed a market research and rebranding program for the Campagna Center, which provides high-quality children’s programs. PCI produced the first-ever Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) video, creating a powerful testament to the courage of marathon participants that helped promote registration and benefit the many charities MCM supports. PCI also produced a video PSA for Student Athletes for Educational Opportunities (SAFECO), a program supported by PCI’s client, the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation, and produced a brochure for the Patriot Cruise and Salute, a program for wounded, injured, and ill American veterans.
